I've been wondering if there's a best practice for everything. In order to know what is the best practice should be used, we need the experience, or at least finding someone experienced to guide us through, right?
Well, I just want to share this thought of mine, for me as a junior that have to be started to step through the stepping stone of the 'other zone of business', is a hard work. In this matter, I'm not talking about the technical aspect alone, although being focused on the technical matters is the main priority of my job description, unfortunately, I cannot avoid not to deal with the 'other zone' as well. There is other aspect, other people, other head to adjust, such as managerial, business owner, operational, services, micro, corporate relation, corporate network, risk management, not to forget the audit, and even the law division. :D It's not an easy task, especially when there is a problem came up '
with a triple X's disposition to follow up'. :(
Add with the technical responsibility I own.. Then, boom! Just ready to be crushed! Hehehehe.. No, I'm just kidding... ;p
I mean, what makes it difficult was, when there is a problem, especially that correlate with financial matter, there's a chaos and there should be some--or at least 'one', who has to be the bad guy. And the IT is the one who is usually have the experience. :p Tada!!! Slowly but sure, the 'blame' game becoming a favorite game, then.
So, there's a problem. A big one. Yes, we(*IT) have the responsible for the system made, but there are constrains as well, constrain of cost, time, people, project management, and so on.. How can I,
the junior that attend the meeting, stand to the statement from them who said that they don't get enough support? That the IT haven't been fulfilling some tasks that has been requested--in order of risk management, operational, and business? Hmmmmh... Silence is what I have. Just sit, and get hit. ;p Even mostly they are complaining about other group/section besides mine, but still, I am the one representing, that time. To be honest, they're not all wrong. On some points, I know they were right.
I don't know, guess there was not a fix best practice to be taken. Maybe all we need is the experience first. So that we would know which way is the best practice should have taken. Blah.. Blah.. Blah.., I don't have no idea, I just want to spit it out.
